Recently, XINUO deeply participated in multiple rounds of S-100 sea trials across various navigation areas, continuously validating the real-ship application capabilities of S-100 products and related equipment in actual maritime environments. Together with industry partners, XINUO is accelerating the large-scale and localized implementation of S-100 standards.

Keeping pace with international maritime standards, XINUO took the lead in developing the S-100 engine while continuously advancing product adaptation and hardware iteration. Currently, next-generation equipment—including the Multi-Function Display Pro, Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), and Electronic Chart System (ECS)—achieved stable operation of S-100 products, further proving equipment reliability and operational compatibility during sea trials.
What Capabilities Were Validated in the S-100 Sea Trials?
The next-generation Universal Hydrographic Data Model (S-100) serves as the core foundation for future electronic navigational charts and maritime information services. As mandated by IMO, S-100 ECDIS becomes compliant for use starting January 1, 2026, and mandatory for all newly installed ECDIS starting January 1, 2029. This marks the transition of S-100 products and equipment from R&D into operational deployment.
Multi-Source Information Fusion & Display: S-101 Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC) overlay seamlessly with S-100 data products—including S-102 Bathymetric Surface, S-104 Water Level Information, S-111 Surface Currents, and S-124 Navigational Warnings. Featuring fast dynamic refresh rates alongside clear, compliant layer and symbology rendering, it significantly enhances situational awareness on the bridge.
Dual-Fuel Compatibility (S-57/S-63 & S-101): Supporting "Dual Fuel" mode, the system automatically loads and switches between S-57/S-63 and S-101 charts based on regional data availability. This seamless integration ensures continuous, safe, and compliant navigation.
Long-Term Maritime Operational Stability: Continuous extended operation aboard real vessels in actual sea environments fully verified the equipment’s operational stability and environmental resilience.
